Elizabeth Shanin
I write to share that following Vice President and General Counsel Kim Taylor’s departure next month, Elizabeth Shanin will provide interim leadership to the Office of Legal Counsel (OLC). In this role, Liz will lead and manage the University’s Office of Legal Counsel including all aspects of that office’s work representing the University’s interests within and outside the University.
Liz currently acts as a senior associate general counsel for the University. As an alumna of the Law School whose distinguished career with OLC has spanned over 17 years following her time in private practice and with the federal courts, Liz will bring to this period of transition valuable institutional expertise. I am glad to have her partnership on my leadership team.
Throughout her tenure, she has made an impact on a broad range of practice areas. As a senior contributor to OLC, Liz has successfully managed significant litigation portfolios, negotiated crucial contracts for major capital projects, and led critical investigations—consistently benefiting the University through her efforts.
During this period of transition, interim oversight of the Department of Safety and Security will be provided by the Office of the President.
Sincerely,
Paul
