Michael DeLorenzo is vice president for operations at the University of Chicago. In this role, he oversees a portfolio that comprises the teams responsible for the University’s built environment, its technology systems and services, as well as the university-wide human resources organization.

Previously, Mike served as vice chancellor for administration and operations at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), where he was a key advisor to the chancellor. He was also the chancellor’s liaison to the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics, and had responsibility for the Division of Public Safety, Facilities and Services, Parking Department, Purchasing Department, Allerton, Illini Center in Chicago, Police Training Institute, Illinois Fire Safety Institute and Willard Airport. Prior to UIUC, Mike served in leadership roles at the University of Illinois at Chicago and the University of Florida.

Mike holds a bachelor's degree from Colorado State University, a master’s degree from The Ohio State University, and a PhD in Public Administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
