I am pleased to announce that Juan de Pablo will now hold the title Executive Vice President for Science, Innovation, National Laboratories, and Global Initiatives at the University of Chicago. This change in title reflects the increasing responsibilities Juan has undertaken over the past year.

Juan plays an integral role in supporting the University’s science, technology, and innovation efforts, along with their connection to policy and industry. His leadership of entrepreneurship and innovation activities at the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, in close partnership with Madhav Rajan, the dean of the Chicago Booth School of Business, is helping expand the innovation ecosystem on the South Side and create opportunities for University researchers and our partners.

His leadership of UChicago Global is enhancing the University’s research collaborations with international partners and strengthening the University’s connection to organizations and leaders around the world. Juan’s efforts have been vital in stewarding the University’s relationship with Argonne National Laboratory, Fermilab, and the Department of Energy and will remain critical in the years ahead, as we work to advance science and technology in support of the national interest.
